“The Future of a Life in Common” is a documentary that explores the lives of people who, after spending long periods in psychiatric institutions, are reintegrated into the community. The film focuses on the possibility of life outside of asylums and the impact of community networks on this process of externalization. Through testimonies, the film shows the efforts of these people to regain their dignity and a role in society, highlighting the importance of human rights and public policies that promote inclusion.

STORYLINE
This is the story of the Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo, narrated from Chicha Mariani’s point of view. From knitting and waiting to becoming expert detectives and pushing science into the discovery of Mitocondrial DNA, as if it was meant to be for them. How do we prove the relationship when the parents are no longer alive? The discovery of the index of grandmotherhood makes possible to restitute the identity of kidnapped children during the military coup. It’s the first case of kidnapping for political reasons. The grandmothers will see no limit to find them and get them back to the truth.
