Ricardo Cárcova
Biography
Ricardo Cárcova is a photographer and audiovisual editor with an extensive career spanning photojournalism and visual media.
He began as a photojournalist at the news agency Diarios y Noticias (DyN), followed by the newspaper Sur , and joined Clarín in 1990.
His images have been distributed by Reuters, AFP, and Associated Press , published in outlets such as The New York Times , Der Spiegel , El País , and VEJA , and exhibited in various shows, including the international festival Visa pour l’Image in Perpignan, France, which he attended as a representative of the newspaper.
During two decades at Clarín , he worked as a photojournalist and editor across multiple sections of Clarín and Olé , served as Photo Editor of VIVA , and later became Photo and Multimedia Editor at Clarin.com , where he led major coverage in Africa, the United States, and Europe .
Today, he combines his storytelling vision with technology: he is a certified drone pilot (ANAC) and co-founder of Aero665 SRL , a company specializing in audiovisual solutions and asset inspections for major companies in the energy and construction sectors , as well as imaging services for precision agriculture and livestock.
He has also worked in audiovisual production, creating reports for the Franco-German channel ARTE , and contributed to photographic research projects with historian Felipe Pigna for Editorial Caras y Caretas .
With academic training in Sociology, Communication, and Marketing , and professional development under renowned figures such as Sebastiao Salgado, Kathy Ryan, Douglas Kirkland, and Christian Caujolle , among others, Cárcova blends journalistic rigor, visual sensitivity, and technological insight .
Today, his camera, whether on the ground or in the air, continues to tell stories with visual strength and human depth.
