Matthieu Mantovani is a bold director known internationally. After working in a directors’ collective, he struck out on his own. Over the past ten years, he has made many ads for top brands like Mercedes, Allianz, Dacia, Volkswagen, Peugeot, Smart, Renault, EDF, Toyota, and Vodafone.

 

Friendly and fully involved in every project, Matthieu has a special talent for creating cinematic worlds. His work is known for great casting choices and clear storytelling, mixing narrative, humor, and emotion. Always prolific and chasing new ideas, he continually develops creative concepts. His deep knowledge of special effects is also a key strength in his work. Since 2022, Matthieu has been exploring the possibilities of artificial intelligence. He first experimented with AI to push visual limits and bring new ideas to life. His work became more structured over time and caught the attention of some contemporary art galleries. www.beyondhuman.info In 2023, he launched Année Zéro, a gallery for artists working with AI, many of whom he met over the years. This project brings together pioneers of generative art. Their first exhibition, “Terra Mirabilis,” took place in Paris in July 2024.

 

Through his work and Année Zéro Gallery, Matthieu aims to spark critical discussion about AI’s role in society and contemporary art by producing prints, sculptures, and installations.  www.anneezero.com In 2025, part of his work (installation and prints) was selected for the AI Summit on February 10. Also in 2025, Année Zéro launched a studio to produce content (ads, music videos, fiction) representing directors and photographers who master this new technology.  In 2023, he launched also a production company that represent directors involved in the AI process to create content, music videos, fiction and advertising. www.anneezerocontent.com At the same time, Matthieu is developing and writing two feature films projects in France, showing his ongoing passion for cinema.
